Q. How do I apply for a PMCID?

our paper was not filed for open access but we need the PMCID number for grant applications. I heard that there is a way to apply for one.

In order to obtain a PMCID you must file your paper for inclusion in PubMed Central if it meets the NIH criteria: http://publicaccess.nih.gov/determine_applicability.htm
